Description

Description

This two-sided pendant reproduces the imagery of a silver minted in Knossos, Crete, around 400-350 BC.

One side features a female portrait traditionally identified as Ariadne, daughter of King Minos, framed by a geometric meander that recalls the legendary Labyrinth of Knossos.

The reverse depicts King Minos seated upon his throne and holding a sceptre, accompanied by the ancient Greek inscription ΚΝΩΣΙΟΝ, meaning “of the Knossians.”

A jewel that brings together ancient Cretan coinage, mythology, and refined contemporary craftsmanship.
