Description
This pendant reproduces the imagery of a silver tetradrachm issued by Amphipolis in ancient Macedonia during the fourth century BC.
The obverse presents a striking three-quarter portrait of Apollo wearing a laurel wreath.
The reverse depicts a burning race torch enclosed within a square frame, accompanied by the inscription ΑΜΦΙΠΟΛΙΤΕΩΝ, meaning “of the Amphipolitans.”
A two-sided jewelry inspire by one of the most distinctive examples of ancient Macedonian coinage.
